Boys' Brigade
Boys’ Brigade is a Christian youth organisation for boys of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. A varied programme of fun activities is offered, designed to educate, challenge and inspire young boys in a safe environment of Christian teaching. The motto, “Sure and Steadfast” is taken from Hebrews 6: 19. 63rd Belfast Company was founded in Braniel Church in September 1959.
Our BB Company meets on Tuesday evenings from September to Easter time. The Anchor Boys (from Primary 1 to Primary 4), meet from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The Junior Section (Primary 5 to Primary 7) meet from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The Company Section (Secondary school age) meet from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Anchor Boys hear Bible stories, complete various crafts, play games and begin to learn the traditional BB elements of marching and drill. The Junior and Company Sections have a Bible class, marching and drill, physical activities (e.g. football, cricket, basketball). They also play table tennis and darts, as well has pool and computer games in the BB Room. All sections have tuck shop on Company nights.
Each year, the Anchor Boys have a night out, with the location for this year’s outing being a closely guarded secret. Check this page later in the year for more information!
BB provides a safe environment for the boys of Braniel to come and have fun, fellowship
and friendship. It gives the boys opportunities to try new things, but at all times
